It’s Oscar Time Again

Well it's Oscar time again and now you know where I'll be this Sunday night .No, not at The Kodak Theatre in LA - more like the sofa at "Casa West". The 10 movies up for Best Picture this year are Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The Kids Are All Right, The King's Speech, 127 Hours, The Social Network, Toy Story 3, True Grit, and Winter's Bone.

I must confess I haven't seen all 10 of these flicks, but I have seen several of them ... some even twice. Until I saw King's Speech I thought Social Network was a shoe-in to win. I also think Colin Firth will get best actor for this great film. I loved 127 Hours as I mentioned in a previous blog, however the gore factor doesn't help this picture with it's attempt at appealing to the masses. True Grit was good but not great, except for Hailee Steinfeld who stole the movie. Winters Bone was interesting but sad and felt really "dark". Portman will probably score for Black Swan & Christian Bale for The Fighter.

But if you really want to see a great movie from 2010 that was completely ignored - make sure to rent BURIED with Ryan Reynolds. Maybe the best movie I saw in 2010. One person visually in the whole movie. One setting. Very compelling.

The 83rd Academy Awards is on ABC at 8pm (but please leave BOB FM on in the background)

BOB & I always talk movies…

BOB & I always talk movies... He sees more than I do, but every once in awhile a flick comes along that I can't wait to see. I actually told BOB about this one that comes out Nov. 5th. Not since Slumdog Millionaire have I been so ready to plunk down my 9 bucks on opening day. Have you heard about "127 Days" yet? Do yourself a favor and search for the trailer online and get ready for this based on a true story movie. This is one I'm sure to see before BOB!

Oh and by the way, I'll be at Busch Gardens 'bob-casting' live from 3-7pm this Sunday 10/24. Stop by the Pepsi booth in the Germany section and enjoy the fun of Howl-O-Scream.

Later...

A big thanks for checking out my blog

A big thanks for checking out my blog... I'm super psyched to have this new BOB FM website up & runnin'!! Our old website was put together in the mid 90's - which is funny cause this radio station started in 2004. (small laugh) Anyway, keep checking back as I update you with all kinds of things going on in front and behind the scenes here at 93.7 BOB FM.

Oh yeah, there's no truth to the rumor that your last name has to start with a "W" (Worden, Williams, West) in order to get a fulltime job on-air at BOB FM. I was seriously asked that recently...

Gotta go rotate Bob's tires - c'ya
