Want to find great food, fabulous entertainment, and plenty of children’s activities all within walking distance of each other? Take a bite out of the annual Taste of Suffolk street festival on Saturday, September 7, 2019, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in downtown Suffolk.

Taste of Suffolk is in its thirteenth year having attracted residents, as well as visitors, from all over Hampton Roads. The event site will stretch down Main Street from Finney Avenue to Washington Street. Main Street will be lined with restaurants from all over Suffolk presenting some of their specialty food items, merchandise vendors displaying a variety of goods and services, a New Car show with local Suffolk dealerships, all day entertainment with live music and contests that are sure to get everyone on their feet, a live plant sale from the Master Gardeners and a Children’s Area featuring bounce houses, crafts, face painting, amusements and more. We are excited to include a Beer Garden this year showcasing craft brews from our areas local breweries. Everyone is sure to find something to enjoy at this year’s Taste of Suffolk.

Taste of Suffolk will feature some of Suffolk’s best eateries offering a limited menu of their best cuisine offerings. Restaurants will be offering their items at minimal pricing, allowing event attendees to try food from some of Suffolk’s best eateries.

This year’s festival will feature a stage located on Washington Street and Market Street.

Buffalo Wild Wings Wing Contests will be held throughout the day on the Market Street Stage. Those who are interested in participating in the wing eating contests can sign up at the Contest Tent.

There will be plenty of free parking lots surrounding the event site. These free parking areas are Cherry Street parking lot located off of Saratoga Street, the Saratoga Street parking lot, First Baptist Parking Lot, Godwin Courts Building parking lot, Market Park parking lot and the Prentis Street Parking lot. Roads will be blocked for the festival beginning at 6:00 a.m. Road closures will be at Finney Avenue and North Main Street down to Fayette Street, Oakdale Terrace, Freemason Street and Finney Avenue, Washington Street from Commerce Street to Saratoga Street and Bank Street at Commerce Street. The roads will reopen at 8:00 p.m. Shuttles for parking will not be available.
